Commission I Of The DPR-TNI Meeting Is Closed For 1.5 Hours, Discuss Domestic Loans For Papua's Security

TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto together with the chiefs of staff of the three dimensions attended a closed meeting with Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Wednesday, July 10.

The meeting discussed domestic loan activities (PDN) to address security concerns in Papua. In the closed meeting for about 1.5 hours in the meeting room of Commission I of the DPR RI, the DPR announced that there were 23 PDN activities by the TNI in the 2024 budget. "The focus of the budget is to deal with Papua, because Papua is a national issue that must be discussed intensively," Agus said after attending the closed meeting, confiscated by Antara.

According to him, the security problems in the Papua area are quite complex, because apart from the armed separatist group, there are also community welfare problems that also need attention. In addition, according to him, so far there has been no discussion regarding the Draft Law (TNI) between his party and Commission I of the DPR RI.

"Earlier (the meeting) focused on PDN," said the former Commander of the Siliwangi Military Command III. However, he explained that later the focus of the TNI Bill would be related to the extension of the retirement age of TNI members to be the same as other ASN provisions.
