East Kalimantan Bawaslu Finds 6 Incidents During The 2024 Pilkada Coklit, Including Pantarlih Delegating Tasks In Banjarmasin

JAKARTA - The Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of East Kalimantan (Kaltim) has found six special events in monitoring the stages of matching and research (coklit) of voter data ahead of regional head elections (pilkada) in the area.

Members of the East Kalimantan Bawaslu, Galeh Akbar Tanjung, said that the results of the supervision that had been carried out during the coklit period from June 24 to July 5, 2024.

"Collite monitoring is very important in the stages of updating the simultaneous regional election voter data held to elect governors and deputy governors, mayors and deputy mayors, as well as regents and deputy regents in the East Kalimantan region," he said in Samarinda, East Kalimantan, Tuesday, July 9, which was confiscated by Antara.

The Regency/City General Election Commission (KPU) assisted by voter data updating officers (panteroverlih) has carried out coblits simultaneously throughout the region. Furthermore, in the city of Balikpapan, there are untampled coklit stickers and only four voters are stored in the house and the voter list is four people but the cutting sticker only lists two people.

Still in Balikpapan, pantarlih was found who did not carry out their duties and delegated their duties to other people.

"Then in Kutai Kartanegara Regency there is a list of potential new retired police voters who have not been registered," said Galeh.

Responding to these findings, said Galeh, the East Kalimantan Bawaslu took corrective steps, namely first, urging the provincial KPU, district/city KPU, PPK, PPS, and Pantarlih to carry out data accuracy and accuracy during the preparation of the 2024 regional election voter list.

Second, convey to the election participants to participate in controlling the updating process and ensure that they are registered as voters, and third, ask people who have met the requirements as voters to check their names on the voter list.

"Fourth, if people find vulnerabilities and alleged violations in order to convey problems through the command post and Bawaslu provincial and Bawaslu social media district/city," he said.

Galeh emphasized the importance of accurate and up-to-date voter data to ensure election integrity because it has committed to overseeing citizens' voting rights by ensuring the bankruptcy process runs transparently and accountably.

Bawaslu Kaltim hopes that the steps taken can overcome the problems found and improve the quality of voter data in East Kalimantan.
