Had Said 'Sung Him', PKS President Clarified His Speech About Supporting Bobby In The North Sumatra Gubernatorial Election

JAKARTA - President of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) Ahmad Syaikhu clarified his statement stating that he had brought Bobby Nasution forward in the 2024 North Sumatra Pilkada. Syaikhu has now stated that PKS has not yet decided on an attitude related to the North Sumatra gubernatorial election.

"I need to straighten out and clarify the news that was spread today again, so what I said this morning was about the PKS DPP Decree regarding the support of the Maluku governor," said Syaikhu at the PKS DPP office, Monday, July 8.

Syaikhu emphasized that the PKS Central High Leadership Council (DPTP) is still discussing the name that will be supported as a candidate for governor of North Sumatra.

"As for the news, there has been support for North Sumatra, in this case, the Governor Candidate, I need to emphasize that until now there has been no decision from the PKS DPTP regarding the support of the Candidate for governor of North Sumatra. Everything is still in the process of being discussed," said Syaikhu.

"This is a form of clarification because there is already one media that raises the news about it," he added.

Previously, news broke about PKS expressing support for one of the Paslons in the Pilkada of the Governor of North Sumatra.

This was later denied by PKS President Ahmad Syaikhu who said the statement made was not related to support in the North Sumatra Governor Election.

Even though Syaikhu had emphasized that his party did not require anything in providing support to President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) son-in-law.

PKS, he said, handed over the decision regarding the candidate for deputy governor to Bobby.

"Yes, PKS carries him, and of course we entrust him, what are the links to who the deputy is, we also don't ask for representatives," said Syaikhu at the PKS DPP office, South Jakarta, Monday, July 8.

Although he did not ask for the position of cawagub, Syaikhu emphasized that the PKS machine was ready to participate in winning Bobby in the 2024 North Sumatra gubernatorial election.

"But we, our party machines, are ready to be one of the victories for him," he said.
