Indonesian Navy Frog Troops Navy Seal Joint Exercise In Situbondo Tomorrow, Juanda Air Base Gives Full Support

SURABAYA - The Indonesian Navy (AL) is preparing for Joint Combined Exchange Training (JCET) Flash Thunder Iron 2024 with the special forces of the United States Navy (US SOPAC/US Navy Seal) in Surabaya and Situbondo, East Java (East Java), on July 8, 2024.

Juanda Air Base Commander Colonel Laut (P) Dani Achnisundani said Juanda Air Base gave full support for the needs of the Indonesian Navy and US Navy Special Forces in the 2024 JCET Flash Thunder Iron Latma.

"We (Landal Juanda) will always be ready to provide full support for the smooth and successful activities of the 2024 JCET Flash Thunder Iron Latma according to the orders of the superior command," said Danlanudal Juanda in an official broadcast, Saturday, July 6, which was confiscated by Antara.

Various preparations for this include providing operational support for air transportation flights for personnel and equipment from the US Navy at the Juanda Navy Air Base (Lanudal) in Sidoarjo.

The Information Service of the Indonesian Navy (Dispenal) explained that the special forces from the US Navy arrived at Juanda Air Base using the Dornier DO-328 aircraft, Friday, July 5.

Latma JCET Flash Thunder Iron 2024 is a bilateral exercise between the Indonesian Navy's Center for Frog Troop Command (Puskopaska) together with the US SOPAC/US Navy Seal Group 1 which is a follow-up to the United States-Indonesia Bilateral Defense Discussion (USIBIDD) 2022 work program and Special Operation Force (SOF) Talks in 2022.

The exercise, which is routinely held every year, aims to increase the interoperability of the Indonesian Navy and Navy Special Forces. The exercise was also held to improve the professionalism of the work of two-state troops.

The JCET Flash Thunder Iron 2023 Latma was held for more than 20 days in several locations, including Jakarta including the Thousand Islands and Bogor, West Java.

Some of the training materials attended by US Navy and Navy Special Forces at JCET Flash Thunder Iron last year included war Victims maintenance exercises (TCCC), small boat tactical exercises, close combat training (CQB), coastal/shore reconnaissance exercises, combat diving operations, underwater navigation exercises, underwater underwater targets, training to destroy underwater underwater targets, and full-fledge attack/mission profile scenario exercises.
