JAKARTA - The police are investigating a case of allegedly cutting School Operational Assistance (BOS) funds managed by the Majene Regency Youth and Sports Education Office (Disdikpora).

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Majene Police, AKP Budi Adi, said that the alleged deduction of BOS funds was allegedly carried out by an individual from the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) who served at the Majene Regency Disdikpora.

According to him, the Majene Police have carried out a case title in connection with the alleged criminal act of extortion and extortion of BOS funds allegedly carried out in all elementary and junior high school levels in Majene Regency.

"The alleged corruption in cutting BOS funds is allegedly carried out from March to April 2024," he said in Majene, West Sulawesi Province (Sulbar), Saturday, July 6, which was confiscated by Antara.

He conveyed that after the case was carried out, it was agreed that the criminal act of extortion and extortion or cutting and BOS would be increased to the investigation stage.

"Polres Majene is serious about handling this case to eradicate corrupt practices and extortion in the education sector so that cases are increased to the investigation stage," he said.

He said that the handling of this case would be transparent and accountable, in order to provide a deterrent effect on extortionists and prevent cases like this from happening again in the future.

"We are committed to seriously follow up on the alleged deduction of BOS funds that have reached the investigation stage and collected evidence to determine the most responsible person in this case to be prosecuted according to legal regulations," he said.
