Bus Accident Drag Motorcycle Enters Abyss In West Lampung, Police Conduct Investigation

The West Lampung Police Traffic Unit conducted an investigation into the traffic accident of the Ranau Indah bus entering a ravine on Jalan Lintas Liwa, Pekon (Village) Simpang Sari, Sumber Jaya District.

The Head of Traffic at the West Lampung Police, Iptu Samsi Rizal, said that his party had investigated the accident, and a series of crime scene processing activities had been carried out and asked for statements from a number of witnesses.

"We will also schedule an examination of the driver who is currently still undergoing treatment at Medika Insani Hospital, North Lampung," he said when contacted from South Lampung, Friday, July 5, as reported by Antara.

According to him, the accident resulted in a motorcyclist with the initials E being dragged into the 50 meter deep ravine and died.

He explained that the police in the jurisdiction of the West Lampung Police had also sterilized the crime scene by installing a police line.

"We have also contacted a number of victims' families," he said.

For information, previously the personnel of the Sumber Jaya Police, West Lampung Police, evacuated the victims of the Ranau Indah Bus accident who plunged into a ravine in Simpang Sari Village, Sumber District.

Head of Traffic at the West Lampung Police, Iptu Samsi Rizal, when contacted from South Lampung, Wednesday, July 3, said the bus accident killed one passenger who occurred at 15.00 WIB.

"There was an accident at Pekon Simpang Sari involving a Ranau Indah bus unit and a motorcycle. The motorcyclist died," he said.

He explained that his party immediately went to the crime scene after receiving a report of traffic jams in the area.

"The Traffic Unit of the Resort Police and the Sumber Jaya Police immediately went to the location to evacuate the accident victims as many as 30 people, were rushed to the nearest puskesmas, six of whom were referred to the local hospital and one person died due to the traffic accident at Sumber Jaya Lampung Barat," he said.
