JAKARTA - Hurricane Beryl damaged the roof of Jamaica's Norman Manley International Airport. This storm first destroyed the small islands of the Caribbean.
"The passenger terminal roof was damaged during the storm," said Jamaican Airport Authority President Audley Deidrick, reported by CNN, Thursday, July 4.
"We lost some parts of the roof in the area," said Deidrick.
He said the operator would assess the damage at Norman Manley International Airport before deciding when it would reopen.
Deidrick said he did not receive a negative' report from Sangster International Airport, another airport on the island.

After hitting Jamaica, the Beryl storm is 110 miles southeast of the Grand Cayman and is expected to carry damage in the Cayman Islands from Thursday night to Friday.
