Denpasar Gives Subsidy Of IDR 1.5 Million For Students Who Do Not Qualify For State Junior High Schools

DENPASAR - Denpasar City Government, Bali provided a subsidy of construction money of IDR 1.5 million for each student with a Denpasar family card (KK) which in the 2024/2025 New Student Admissions (PPDB) was not accepted at public junior high schools.

"A construction fee subsidy of IDR 1.5 million per student will be given. The Head of Education and Youth and Sports will confirm it to private schools in Denpasar to implement or secure the Mayor's program," said Deputy Mayor of Denpasar I Kadek Agus Arya Wibawa, Wednesday, July 3.

According to him, initially in the Budget Board meeting, the construction fee was set at Rp. 1 million per student.

"But in the budget meeting the following day, the mayor immediately took the lead, he gave directions to increase it from Rp. 1 million to Rp. 1.5 million per student," he said.

Arya Wibawa conveyed that the budget prepared by the Denpasar City Government for the subsidy of the construction money was more than Rp. 4 billion. His party has calculated that there are more than 3,000 students with Denpasar ID cards who cannot be accepted at public junior high schools.

"We from the Denpasar City Government remain present to students who have Denpasar ID cards, who register in the country, but who do not receive them," he said.

However, said Arya Wibawa, there are a number of requirements that must be met because there are students who did not register at public junior high schools from the start and went directly to register for private schools. Subsidies certainly do not apply to students who immediately apply to private junior high schools.

The Denpasar City Government wants to ensure that the implementation of PPDB in Denpasar City, especially for elementary and junior high school students, runs in accordance with the agreed juklak and technical guidelines.

"We want to always oversee every stage of the PPDB process to run transparently, in accordance with technical guidelines, accountability and integrity," he added as quoted by ANTARA.

Therefore, on Tuesday (2/7) Arya Wibawa had gone down directly to check the PPDB process and things that might be questions that often arise in the community.

"Astungkara (at God's permission) has gone well and today is the last day of PPDB for the Environmental Development route. We will continue to monitor and monitor hopefully it can run according to the guidelines and technical guidelines," he said.
