6 Basic Points Of DKPP RI Pecat Hasyim Asy'ari From The Position Of Chairman Of The KPU In The Aftermath Of Immorality

JAKARTA - The Honorary Council of Election Organizers (DKPP) of the Republic of Indonesia has sentenced Hasyim Asy'ari to be dismissed from the position of Chairman of the Indonesian General Elections Commission (KPU).

Hasyim as the defendant was found guilty of immoral acts against one of the overseas election committees (PPLN) for the 2024 General Election, The Hague, the Netherlands.

"Imposing a permanent dismissal sanction to the defendant Hasyim Asy'ari as chairman and member of the Indonesian General Elections Commission since the verdict was read out," said Chairman of the Indonesian DKPP Heddy Lugito in a hearing reading the verdict in the DKPP RI courtroom, Jakarta, broadcast on YouTube DKPP RI, Wednesday 3 July.

In the trial of case Number 90/PKE-DKPP/V/2024, the Indonesian DKPP granted the complainant entirely.

DKPP also asked President Joko Widodo to replace Hasyim within 7 days of the reading of the verdict.

Hasyim Asy'ari was present virtually or online at the trial starting at 14.10 WIB, Wednesday, July 3.

Meanwhile, DKPP made six points as the basis for Hasyim Asy'ari to be fired from the position of Chairman of the Indonesian KPU because he did not maintain the principles of professionalism and was not guided by professional principles, namely:

1 Defendant, Hasyim Asy'ari, did not maintain the secret that he entrusted because he sent information data obtained because of his authority as Chairman of the KPU whose secrecy is known from his expression: "for your eyes only";

2. The defendant planned a personal agenda to walk together with the complainant on an official trip in Amsterdam long ago. In fact, the defendant clearly shows that he is active in asking for a walk alone with the complainant in the middle of the election organizing activities in Amsterdam;

3. The defendant is strongly indicated to have committed sexual violence, namely sexual exploitation and or coercion of sexual relations during the PPLM Bimtek in the Netherlands, namely on October 3, 2023 at the Van der Valk Amsterdam Hotel;

4. Defendant compiled and signed a statement letter on January 2, 2024, containing promises, which were first discussed together. The statement letter is the culmination of all the promises that have been made to defendants while calming the complainant, before and after the October 3, 2023 event at the Van der Valk Amsterdam Hotel;

5. Defendants abuse the authority to use state facilities for personal gain in order to seduce complainants, by using Fortuner service vehicles, using the National Police service plate, on March 9, 2024;

6. The defendant did not carry out his duties according to his position and authority by ordering his subordinates at the Indonesian KPU institution to carry out work outside the scope of the election, namely by ordering his subordinates to buy a monitor unit on behalf of the KPU Novan on November 29, 2023.
