2 Months Since The Allegation Of Blasphemy Was Reported, The Police Are Still Busy Gathering The Report Files Of Pastor Gilbert

JAKARTA - The police said that the handling of the alleged blasphemy case involving Pastor Gilbert Lumoindong as the reported party was still ongoing. The latest development, Polda Metro Jaya is still collecting reporting files from several regional police. Pastor Gilbert was reported in mid-April this year. There are several parties who complained to the Polda Metro Jaya regarding the contents of the sermon in question because it is considered to contain elements of blasphemy. "Pendeta G is still being collected because there are several reports in various regions," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi to reporters, Tuesday, July 2. So far, Ade mentioned several case files involving Pastor Gilbert, including the South Sumatra Police and the South Sulawesi Regional Police. The reporting file will be transferred. Thus, Polda Metro Jaya will investigate the case. "Later, after that it will be used as one, a case will be held to be followed up," said Ade. Pastor Gilbert Lumoindong went viral because in his lecture he compared zakat between Muslims and Christians. From the video circulating on social media, Pastor Gilbert is considered to have insulted Islam because he only paid zakat 2.5 percent and boasted because Christians used to give up 10 percent. According to Gilbert, he said this when he mentioned the prayers of Muslims who must be pure first. "I was taught Islam cleanly before praying, washing everything. I said, you are 2.5 percent myself 10 percent," said Pastor Gilbert.

Gilbert also said that with 10 percent alms, Christians do not have to bother worshiping. They only sing while the worship of Muslims is quite heavy, because they have to fold their feet at the end of the day.
