PDIP Kubu Sues KPK Investigators To South Jakarta District Court

Ronny Talapessy, who is the attorney for the staff of the PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto, Kusnadi, sued the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigator to the South Jakarta District Court (PN). They urged the confiscated books to be returned because they were not related to the Harun Masiku case.

"My friends and the legal aid agency and advocacy of representatives from DKI and also Banten and other regional areas will follow, we are registering a lawsuit related to the confiscation of party-owned books," Ronny told reporters at the South Jakarta District Court, Monday, July 1.

Ronny said the investigators in question were Rossa Purbo Bekti and his friends. He called this lawsuit based on the aspirations of party cadres.

"That what the KPK investigators have done is arbitrary and we, the PDI-P, still believe in the law, so we take this legal action," he said.

"So that we PDI-P get justice," he continued.

Furthermore, Ronny also emphasized that Rossa's confiscated items had nothing to do with the Harun Masiku case. This is because the records and cellphones contain the party's movements.

"Once again, I need to underline here that the confiscated party book or cellphone has nothing to do with Harun masiku," he said.

"The confiscated party book is related to the political strategy of the PDI-P related to winning the upcoming regional elections and also related to the party's muruah, party sovereignty where we objected when the book was taken," explained the lawyer who is also a party cadre bearing the bull symbol.

As previously reported, Harun Masiku became a fugitive after being named a suspect in giving bribes to former KPU Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan to serve as a member of the DPR through interim shifts (PAW).

The investigators have recently examined four witnesses to find their whereabouts after pocketing new information. One of them is PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto on Monday, June 10. During the examination, KPK investigators also confiscated cellphones and notebooks that were claimed to contain the winning of the 2024 Pilkada held by Hasto Kristiyanto Staff, Kusnadi. This made PDIP suspected that politicization had occurred.

In addition, the confiscation resulted in reporting to the KPK Supervisory Board to Komnas HAM. Anti-corruption commission investigators are considered to have worked by not following the applicable rules.
