Tragic, Container Truck Driver Killed By Boks Container In Accident On JORR Toll Road

JAKARTA - A container truck driver named SR (38) died after being hit by a container box in a single accident on the Jakarta Outer Ring Road (JORR) KM 53-400, Cakung, East Jakarta, on Saturday afternoon, June 29.

Head of the Traffic Accident Unit (Kanit Laka Lalu) of the East Jakarta Metro Police, AKP Darwis, confirmed that the accident occurred at around 13.45 WIB. It is suspected that the driver of the container truck, who was driving from Tanjung Priok to Bekasi, was sleepy and hit the concrete barrier of the toll road, causing the vehicle to cross over and the container box overturned.

"We suspect the truck driver was sleepy so he couldn't control his vehicle. The truck crossed the toll road and the container box overturned, hitting SR who later died at the scene due to being bounced and hit by a container box," said AKP Darwis.

The victim was immediately taken to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital for further examination. The medical team who arrived at the location immediately carried out first aid but unfortunately SR's life could not be saved.

The truck and its container cargo have been evacuated from the scene and handed over to the East Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Unit Office for further investigation.

This accident caused temporary congestion on the JORR toll road, but the situation has returned to normal after the evacuation process was completed. The exact cause of the accident is still under further investigation by the authorities.
