Coordinating Ministry For The Economy Says There Has Been No Discussion On Tax Amnesty

The Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs (Kemenko Perekonomian) revealed that it has not held a special discussion to realize the tax amnesty program.

"I haven't heard of it. There is no tax amnesty yet. It means I don't know, at the top leadership level, I don't know," said Secretary of the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy Susiwijono Moegiarso to the media crew, Friday, January 3.

Susiwijono emphasized that he had not received information about the tax amnesty because it was at the high leadership level at the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, it had only begun to be effective, after the New Year holiday period.

Even so, Susiwijono ensured that the tax amnesty program volume III would be discussed by all relevant ministries/agencies including the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy together with the Ministry of Finance.

"That is indeed the discussion in all sectors, invite all of them. But we don't know yet," he said.

Previously, the Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs (Menkopolkam) Budi Gunawan, revealed that the government was preparing a tax amnesty program and was being discussed.

According to Budi, this is one mechanism to restore state wealth.

"Regarding the tax amnesty, it is being formulated. We know there is a first and second tax amnesty," said Budi Gunawan in a press conference, January 2.
