During His Becoming Minister Of Agriculture, SYL Raised IDR 44.2 Billion And 30 Thousand US Dollars

JAKARTA - The Public Prosecutor (JPU) said that Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) received Rp44.2 billion and US$30 thousand during his tenure as Minister of Agriculture (Mentan). The money was obtained from echelons I of the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) by forcing it.

"The amount of money obtained by the defendant during his tenure as Minister of Pertania by coercion as described above is a total of Rp44,269,777,204 and 30 thousand US dollars," said the prosecutor at the trial at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Friday, June 28.

Each Directorate in the Ministry of Agriculture has deposited a sum of money to SYL through Kasdi Subagyono and Muhammad Hatta as coordinators. The collection of money is carried out from 2020 to 2023.

"The defendant asked the defendants Kasdi Subagyono and Muhammad Hatta as coordinators of the collection of money from echelon I officials and their staff," he said.

In detail, the echelon unit of the Secretariat General of 2020-2023 is IDR 4,463,683,645 and 30 thousand US dollars; Directorate General of Infrastructure and Facilities 2020-2023 is IDR 5,379,634,250.

Then, the Directorate General of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health is said to have handed over Rp1,865,603,625; Directorate General of Plantation amounting to Rp3,778,565,860; Directorate General of Horticulture Rp6,078,604,300; and the Directorate General of Food Crops around Rp6,406,007,500.

Then, Batlitbangtan/BSIP amounted to Rp2,552,000,000; BPPSDMP around Rp6,860,530,800; Food Security Agency of Rp282,000,000; and the Karantian Agricultural Agency of Rp6,603,147,224.

In this case, SYL was charged with extortion of up to Rp44.5 billion during the 2020-2023 period.

This action was carried out together with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture Kasdi Subagyono and the Director of Agricultural Equipment and Machinery of the Directorate General of Infrastructure and Facilities of the Ministry of Agriculture Muhammad Hatta.

This money was used for the benefit of Syahrul's wife and family, invited gifts, the NasDem Party, religious events, aircraft charters to Umrah and sacrifices. In addition, he was also charged with receiving gratuities of Rp40.6 billion from January 2020 to October 2023.

SYL was charged with violating Article 12 letter e and Article 12 letter f or Article 12B in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
