JAKARTA - The Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) revealed that as many as 1,000 members of the DPR and DPRD RI were involved in online gambling. The PPATK findings were conveyed during a working meeting with Commission III of the DPR.
Member of Commission III of the DPR from the PKS faction, Aboe Bakar Alhabsyi said that the PPATK findings indicate that the social illness has been evenly distributed among the public and public officials. "At least the meeting described social diseases that exist in our society so evenly in all lines, at all levels of community institutions. It means that the state responsibility, at least from there we read, can be seen directly by PPATK. Hopefully, it will be a concern for the public," said Aboe at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, January 26. PPATK previously said that out of the 1.000 members of the DPR and DPRD involved, 63,000 transactions with an aggregate value of up to Rp. 25 billion. Meanwhile, the turnover of money in online gambling cases reached hundreds of billions.
However, Aboe could not guess how the circulation of billions of rupiah was meant by PPATK. He hopes that the online gambling eradication task force will immediately work and complete it.

Of course, the suspicion is that the only problem is how to remove this public disease properly," said the secretary general of PKS. Regarding the members of the DPR involved who will be sanctioned, Aboe said the DPR MKD could ask for data from PPATK. Because the PPATK findings submitted in a meeting with Commission III of the DPR have become a complaint.
"MKD can ask, not be reported. Yes (followed up by MKD, ed) you don't have to wait for the report. There has been a report from PPATK," he said.
