Instead Of The Requirements To Be A PKS Cadre, PKB Agrees More Sohibul Iman To Be Anies' Cawagub

JAKARTA - PKB responded to the two conditions submitted by PKS if it wanted to carry Anies Baswedan in the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election, namely Anies must become a PKS cadre or elect the Deputy Chairperson of the Sohibul Iman Syuro Council as a candidate for deputy governor.

Instead of Anies being used as a PKS cadre, PKB prefers that Anies be paired with Sohibul Iman in the upcoming Jakarta Pilkada.

"I still agree with the best option, I think PKS, Mas Sohibul Iman, will be Mas Anies' representative, so that Mas Anies will be part of the protection of other parties, I think the scheme is the best for PKS," said Deputy Secretary General of PKB Syaiful Huda to reporters, Monday, June 24.

According to Huda, the two options offered by PKS are not currently relevant. Because the dynamics of the Jakarta Pilkada are still very fluid.

"If for example it is already in a mature phase, and roughly it is in the right phase and momentum, I suggest it would be better (a duet with Sohibul Iman, ed). Because from the start the spirit (PKS) must be its own cadre and so on," said Huda.

"So I don't think there is an option to make Mas Anies a PKS cadre. I think the option is the best, right away Mas Sohibul Iman will take the position as deputy governor of the Anies pair," he continued.

Even so, Huda assessed, Anies' cawagub proposal must be discussed by coalition political parties. Moreover, PDIP also wants to join to support Anies.

"That's what I think will be a discussion theme when the break is related to the coalition axis. Because it is still very fluid, the option is still open," said the chairman of Commission X of the DPR.

Previously, the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) gave two conditions to Anies Baswedan if he wanted to be promoted as a candidate for governor in the 2024 Pilkada.

This was revealed by PKS spokesman Muhammad Iqbal after the name of the Deputy Chair of the Syuro Council, Mohamad Sohibul Iman as the prospective governor of Jakarta 2024.

The first requirement is that Anies can choose to become a PKS cadre. Second, Anies can choose a PKS cadre as his deputy in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada.

"PKS gave Anies a choice, to become a cadre or deputy from PKS," Iqbal told reporters, Monday, June 24.
