JAKARTA - The West Java Provincial Government (Pemprov) is committed to realizing transparent and fraud-free New Student Admissions (PPDB).

Acting Governor of West Java, Bey Machmudin, said he was ready to cancel graduation if there were prospective students who committed fraud or unnatural data.

"Even though it has been announced (PPDB), I ask that if someone violates the rules, their graduation will be disallowed (unauthorized)," said Bey.

Bey ordered the Education Office to immediately follow up if fraud or data were found. This is the aftermath of public concerns regarding data manipulation in the PPDB selection process.

"There is one school in a place where the plenary session is repeated, it will be re-examined to ensure that domicile data is correct," said Bey.

With requests from the public and dependent institutions related to audit requests, Bey expressed confidence in the role of existing institutions participating in the PPDB selection process, such as the Ombudsman, BPKP, and Inspectorate

"As long as there is evidence, why not? The Ombudsman is also monitoring. If we are audited, what will the audit look like," said Bey.

"We already have rules like what, internally there is also BPKP and Inspector. So, believe me, we will give our best," he said.

Bey explained that the announcement was only opened at night because the PPDB committee continued to verify in the field to ensure prospective participants were honest in providing data.

"Because of that, everything is checked, why the announcement until the night? Because verification continues. That's because the dynamics in the field rather than we announce it quickly. The problem is, there is still a verification process," he said.
