JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta DPRD held a plenary meeting to commemorate the 497th anniversary of the City of Jakarta. This plenary meeting was attended by the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono.
Also present were officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri), ranks of the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda), ranks of the DKI Provincial Government, BUMD officials, to community leaders.
The former governor and deputy governor of DKI Jakarta were also invited to a plenary meeting held every Jakarta anniversary. However, today, only the former Governor of DKI Jakarta for the 1997-2007 period, Sutiyoso was present at the event.
Meanwhile, other former Jakarta regional heads such as Anies Baswedan, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok), and Fauzi Bowo (Foke) were not present at this year's Jakarta Anniversary paripuna meeting.
"Dear, the retired Governor of DKI Jakarta, Mr. Sutiyoso," said Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Prasetyo Edi Marsudi at the opening of his speech at the DKI Jakarta DPRD building, Saturday, June 22.
In his speech, Prasetyo saw that Jakarta as the State Capital had grown rapidly since it was founded almost five centuries ago. Many developments in infrastructure and public services continue to increase. However, Prasetyo emphasized that there are still challenges and social problems that the citizens of Jakarta continue to face.
"We must also remain vigilant and work hard to face various challenges, such as congestion, flooding and various other social problems. We must unite to join hands and support each other so that Jakarta becomes a city that is more comfortable, safe and prosperous for all its citizens," said Prasetyo.

Meanwhile, as of last night, Anies Baswedan admitted that he had not received an invitation from the DKI Jakarta regional government to attend the plenary meeting.
