Bareskrim Polri Unloads 318 Online Gambling Cases, Confiscates IDR 67 Billion

The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police and its ranks uncovered 318 online gambling practices. From the disclosure, tens of billions of evidence was confiscated.

"Bareskrim Polri and his staff have succeeded in uncovering 318 cases of online gambling," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police, Komjen Wahyu Widada, to reporters, Friday, June 21.

Hundreds of online gambling cases were revealed from April 23, 2024 to June 17, 2024. As a result, 464 people were named as suspects.

Several online gambling sites were revealed, namely 1XBET, W88, and Liga Ciputra.

Then, the online gambling site W88 by naming 7 suspects. This illegal practice was dismantled on May 30.

Finally, the disclosure of the Men's League online gambling. In this case, there are two people named as suspects, they have the initials JT and IDS.

"The third case of online gambling practices on the Ciputra League website on June 11, 2024 by Polda Metro Jaya by arresting 2 suspects," Wahyu said.

Of the hundreds of cases, said Wahyu, there was a lot of evidence that was secured, one of which was around Rp. 67 billion.

"By confiscating evidence, money totaling Rp. 67 billion 500 million rupiah, 494 units of cellphones, 36 units of laptop 257 accounts, 98 online gambling accounts, 296 ATM cards," said Wahyu.
