TNI-Polri Make Sure Paniai Is Conducive After KKB Pursuit Operation

The security situation in Paniai Regency, Central Papua is confirmed to be gradually conducive after the operation to pursue armed criminal groups (KKB) in the region.

The law enforcement operation by the Cartenz Peace Task Force and the joint TNI-Polri troops against the KKB, was marked by a shootout that made thousands of residents evacuate from Bibida District, Paniai.

"Currently the situation in Paniai Regency is safe and community activities are starting to return to normal after the criminal action carried out by the KKB," said Head of Damai Cartenz Operations Kombes Pol Faizal Ramadhani, Thursday, June 20.

Head of the Cartenz Peace Operations Public Relations Task Force AKBP Bayu Suseno said the TNI-Polri apparatus are now focusing on ensuring the safety of civilians, especially those who have fled in a number of locations.

"The acting governor of Central Papua on June 20 has made a working visit as well as provided humanitarian assistance to the community (refugees) in Bibida, Paniai," said Bayu.

Meanwhile, Acting Governor of Central Papua Ribka Haluk appreciated the TNI-Polri and the Cartenz Peace Task Force, which he said had worked hard to maintain the security and security situation in Paniai Regency.

"It is proven that the KKB, the perpetrator of the shooting and burning of the car, has been successfully paralyzed," said Ribka.

The first female governor in Papua invited all parties including religious leaders, tribal chiefs, community leaders, and youth leaders and female figures to jointly maintain kamtibmas in Paniai.

"Let's keep the kamtibmas in Paniai district safe and conducive," said Ribka.

Furthermore, Danrem 173/PVB Brigadier General Frits Wilem Rizard Pelamonia emphasized that the presence of the TNI-Polri and the Cartenz Peace Task Force was to ensure the security of residents from security disturbances by the Intan Jaya KKB in Paniai.
