PALANGKA RAYA - The Central Kalimantan High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) has named two suspects in the alleged corruption case of grant funds from the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) Kotawaringin Timur (Kotim) with the initials AU and BP on the People's Wanted List. AU is the Chairman of KONI and BP as the local KONI Treasurer. Assistant for Special Crimes (Aspidsus) of the Central Kalimantan Attorney General's Office Douglas Pamino Nainggolan said that he had for some time named DPOs for two suspects of alleged corruption in KONI Kotim because the person concerned did not heed three summons as suspects. "It is true that we have designated them as DPOs, because they were not cooperative when summoned for questioning by investigators," Douglas said in Palangka Raya, Antara, Thursday, June 20. He said, with the determination of the DPO, his party would carry out a forced pick-up of the two people whose whereabouts are currently unknown. Meanwhile, in the near future, his party will also immediately coordinate with relevant agencies in Kotim to help pick up and examine the suspects. "Actually, today two suspects were examined according to the schedule for the third summons, but they did not come and were made DPOs," he said. In this case, the High Prosecutor's Office investigators are also still trying to find out what caused the two suspects to be hampered, they do not want to attend the examination. In fact, there have been 50 witnesses who have been examined for the alleged corruption case in the KONI Kotim grant fund, one of which is the Regent of Kotim Halikinnor. "The Kotim Regent was examined as a witness in Sampit City some time ago," he said. Douglas also added that it was possible that in this case there would be additional suspects. Therefore, this case continues to be investigated so that this case is resolved and can be tried. "Even though I no longer serve as Aspidsus, the Central Kalimantan Prosecutor's Office, later because I was transferred to the Pasuruan Kejari in East Java, this case will continue and will be handled by the Central Kalimantan Attorney General's Office Aspidsus team later," said Douglas. To note, AU and BP were named suspects in the alleged corruption case of KONI Kotim grant funds for the 2021-2023 fiscal year on Friday, May 31, 2024. Regarding the case, the state losses in the case are still waiting for the report on the results of the calculation of state losses from the auditor. For his actions, the Air Force is suspected of violating Article 2 Paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 3 in conjunction with Article 9 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code.

Meanwhile, BP is suspected of violating Article 2 Paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 3 in conjunction with Article 9 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code.
