The Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Sandi Nugroho, explained the reason why the National Police did not hold a special case as requested by the team of lawyers, Pegi Setiawan alias Perong, suspects in the murder cases of Vina and Muhammad Rizky or Eky in Cirebon last week.
According to Sandi, the special case was not carried out because this was not needed by investigators in uncovering the case.
"If it is deemed necessary to hold a case, of course we will carry out the title. However, until now the case file is sufficient and I say that tomorrow (Thursday, ed.) morning, God willing, it will be transferred to the prosecutor's office," said Sandi at the National Police Headquarters, Wednesday 19 June.
Sandi said that it was the duty and obligation of a lawyer to make legal efforts to defend his client so that the application was legal to be submitted. However, to be carried out or not depending on the investigator.
"The task of the lawyer is how to be able to defend his client. At least it can be lightened, thankfully it can free his client," said Sandi.
Sandi hopes that the public and the media will both monitor the completion of Vina's case after the Peti Setiawan case file is transferred to the prosecutor's office for immediate trial.
"Please monitor it, later follow it all so that we can maintain and oversee this case so that there are no prejudices or lies between us, let alone slander," he said.
On this occasion, Sandi also said that there would be other legal steps that investigators would investigate regarding the Vina Cirebon case, such as efforts to cover up the case investigation. However, investigators are currently focusing on resolving the murder cases of Vina and Eky.
"The main thing at this time is that investigators will focus that we will reveal this sadistic murder clearly. Whoever the perpetrator is, we will act in accordance with the applicable law," said Sandi.
This is also related to the information conveyed by the convict Saka Tatal who admitted that he was intimidated during the examination and did not receive assistance rights from his family or lawyers.
The two-star police general said that when the case occurred in 2016, the convict Saka Tatal was still a minor, had the right to provide information, or remained silent.

However, continued Sandi, from the photo evidence he displayed, it showed Saka Tatal's 2016 examination by investigators not Iptu Rudiana, the late Eky's father, and was examined in good condition, accompanied by her aunt and mother and Father's side.
"The statement from the Fathers that Saka Tatal tends to lie when giving information changes. This is a statement from the Fathers," said Sandi.
