Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy stated that the sacrificial meat in cans from Indonesian pilgrims and slaughtered in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, will be sent to Indonesia to deal with stunting.

"We ensure that this year we will start sending back the sacrificial meat of the pilgrims to return to Indonesia in the form of ready-to-eat food, or canned food that has been processed. Hopefully this is a good step for us, especially to prevent stunting," said Coordinating Minister MuhadjirEffendy as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 19.

Coordinating Minister Muhadjir said he would directly review the location of the processed meat production to Saudi Arabia on July 3, 2024.

"Later I will review the production location, the important thing is that this year we will send back meat for stunting treatment, hopefully it can be optimized," he said.

His party has coordinated with the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) and the National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) for the delivery of sacrificial meat in the form of cans.

"I have also coordinated with BPOM and the Head of Baznas who also happened to be in Makkah, hopefully this is a good step for us," said Muhadjir.

He stated that the amount of meat sent to Indonesia is still uncertain, depending on the company's production capacity.

"We haven't confirmed yet, depending on the production capacity of the company that cooperates with us there, then later on July 3, I will review it," said Muhadjir.

The Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture conveyed the purpose of directly visiting Saudi Arabia on July 3, 2024, as well as evaluating the implementation of the pilgrimage. "I will go there (Saudi Arabia) to check and evaluate existing shortcomings," he said.

He admitted that he had given directions to the Director of Foreign Hajj Services of the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) regarding the issue of Hajj pilgrims who did not get tents.

"Indeed, when I went to Saudi Arabia I wanted to visit, but it was not allowed because it was still in the process of accelerating development, but I had warned the Director of Foreign Hajj Services at that time, so that it would get attention, although I could not review," said Muhadjir.
