JAKARTA - Sukabumi Police and Air Police Unit (Satpolairud) officers evacuated three crew members from East Nusa Tenggara and nine tourists from China after their ship was adrift in the sea waters of Sukabumi Regency, West Java.

"The rescue of the three crew members and nine foreign tourists after we received information from fishermen that a group of foreigners using fireboats was adrift in the middle of the Ujunggenteng Beach, Ciracang District, which was then followed up by carrying out an evacuation from Ujunggenteng Beach to the Nusantara Fishery Port (PPN) Palabuhanratu," said Head of Sukabumi Police Satpolairud AKP Tenda Sukendar, Saturday, June 15.

According to the crew members, they could arrive in the waters of the Sukabumi sea because they were initially asked by foreign tourists from China to take them to several sea tourism objects in the Southeast Sulawesi region.

They departed from Bau-Bau Island to Hoga Island, but on the way the motorboat they were using was damaged and carried by the current to Australian marine waters.

When they arrived in Australia, the crew and foreign tourists had time to get help from the Australian Navy who then gave them afer boat so they could return to Southeast Sulawesi.

However, while on the way, they again encountered problems with running out of fuel so that the scheme they were riding was adrift in the middle of the sea and carried to the waters of the Palabuhanratu Sea, Sukabumi.

He added that the chronology conveyed by the crew and foreign tourists is still being investigated, whether they really have problems in the middle of the sea or there are other motives.

The confession of the ship he was traveling on was adrift until he entered the Australian marine waters, which are very far away, raising suspicions.

"We have not received clear information and are still under development. To anticipate the occurrence of unwanted things, we are coordinating with the Sukabumi Police Sabhara Unit regarding security," he added.

Meanwhile, KBO Satreskrim Sukabumi Police Iptu Ruskan Hermawan said the three crew members from NTT and nine foreign tourists from China were taken to the Sukabumi Police Satreskrim for further questioning.

The foreign tourists from China are all male and are still being questioned and checked for immigration documents. However, his party has not found complete information.
