Tanah Abang Station Development Targeted Until September

JAKARTA - Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi targets the development of Tanah Abang Station to be completed in September this year.

"That's about finished in September," said Budi Karya Sumadi, Saturday, June 15.

According to him, the development of Tanah Abang Station aims to improve services to the community.

The development of Tanah Abang Station is carried out to make it wider and can accommodate many people using train transportation services.

For information, the Ministry of Transportation together with the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta and PT Kereta Api Indonesia are developing Tanah Abang stations to improve services to passengers.

The Tanah Abang station improvement and development project is targeted for completion by the end of 2024.

The physical implementation of the Tanah Abang station development construction has been running and is targeted to be completed by the end of this year to increase the level of service to passengers at Tanah Abang Station, both in terms of convenience, comfort and accessibility.

Improvement and development projects carried out include the construction of new stations, the addition of train lines from four to six lines, the addition of platforms from two to four, and the arrangement of intermodal integration facilities.

With the addition of two new routes, the movement at headway times, especially at the Serpong crossing, can reach 3 minutes from the previous 7 minutes. In addition, the development of the Tanah Abang station can increase its capacity 3 times, from 100 thousand to 300 thousand passengers per day.

The scope of work from each party, namely the Ministry of Transportation, built a new station building and railroad roads, KA (rel, signaling) operating facilities, and the People's Crossing Bridge (JPO) on the railway line. Then, the DKI Provincial Government built road widening and integrated facilities between modes.

Meanwhile, PT KAI builds parking areas and arrangements for e-ticketing, construction of plazas and station yards, as well as intermodal and canopy facilities.

The station is built with a main building area of 12,000 square meters, and with a 2-story building, which is equipped with commercial buildings and supporting facilities and disability facilities.
