TIMIKA - Commander of Defense Region III Command Lt. Gen. Richard TH Tampubolon paid a working visit to the Homeyo District, Intan Jaya Regency, Central Papua after the brutal action of the Free Papua Organization (OPM).

During the visit, he took the time to buy agricultural products from the local community.

"We brought the agricultural products to Timika to improve the yield and economy of the people of Homeyo," said Pangkowilhan III, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, June 14.

"In order to ensure the smooth running of basic services for the people in Homeyo District after the brutal action of the OPM, my goal is to directly observe the situation here," he said.

According to Richard, on this occasion social service (baksos) was also held by distributing basic materials in the form of rice, sugar, noodles, oil, cooking, and several other necessities.

"We also provide power systems assistance, namely solar cells, access and electric lights to illuminate the GKI Church in Pogapa Village," he said.

Currently, the situation in Homeyo District, Intan Jaya Regency has returned to conducive after prosecution by the Habema TNI Operations Command (Koops TNI) against the OPM action in Homeyo District, which caused civilian casualties.

"Many people have fled but now they have returned to their hometowns because the situation has gradually become conducive," he said.

Currently, the community has returned to their normal activities thanks to the security guard of the joint TNI apparatus formed in the Territorial Task Force (Satgaster) of the Intan Jaya Preparation Kodim, which is under the Habema Operations Command.

"The presence of TNI soldiers at Homeyo is to maintain security and at every opportunity try to help the difficulties of the local community," he said.
