National Police Cancels Jusuf Kalla's Nephew, Sadikin Aksa, As A Suspect

JAKARTA - Investigators at the Special Economic Crimes Directorate (Dittipideksus) at the National Police-Criminal Investigation Agency canceled examining the former President Director (Dirut) of PT. Bosowa Corporindo, Sadikin Aksa.

Sadikin Aksa is scheduled to be questioned today Monday, March 15, in his capacity as a suspect in the alleged corruption in the financial services sector.

"Today the person concerned (Sadikin Aksa) is not present," said the Head of Public Information Bureau, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono in his statement, Monday, March 15.

However, the reason for the absence of Jusuf Kalla's nephew was not explained. Rusdi only said that Sadikin Aksa had sent his attorney to meet with investigators.

"(Sadikin Aksa) was represented by his attorney," he said. Until now, Rusdi has not conveyed the investigators' next steps.

Meanwhile, Sadikin Aksa has been named a suspect in a suspected financial services sector crime.

Jusuf Kalla's nephew is a suspect for an act he allegedly neglected and/or failed to carry out a written order from the Financial Services Authority (OJK).

Determination of the suspect is carried out after going through the case title process. Investigators obtained facts from the results of the investigation and evidence, thus establishing Sadikin Aksa as a suspect.

Sadikin Aksa is suspected of violating Article 54 of Law Number 21 of 2011 concerning the Financial Services Authority with the threat of imprisonment for a minimum of two years and a fine of at least IDR 5 billion or maximum imprisonment of six years and a maximum fine of IDR 15 billion.

In investigating this case, investigators have examined 21 witnesses from the OJK, Bank Bukopin, KB Kookmin, Kopelindo, BRI's Technical Assistance Team, and Bosowa Corporindo. In addition, 3 expert witnesses, namely criminal, state, and corporate governance have also been examined.
