Edward Hutahaean Demanded 3 Years In Prison Related To 4G BTS Case

JAKARTA - President Commissioner of PT Laman Tekno Digital Naek Parulian Wasington Hutahaean alias Edward Hutahaean was sentenced to 3 years in prison in connection with the case of the 4G Base Transceiver Station (BTS) and supporting infrastructure in BAKTI Kominfo.

"We demand that the panel of judges impose a sentence on the defendant with a prison sentence of 3 years reduced entirely by the length of time the defendant is in detention," said the Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the Corruption Eradication Commission in a trial reading the charges at the Jakarta Corruption Court (Tipikor). ) reported by ANTARA, Monday, June 10.

The prosecutor asked the panel of judges to declare Edward legally and convincingly proven guilty of committing a criminal act of corruption, as regulated and threatened in Article 5 paragraph (1) letter b in conjunction with Article 15 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption, in accordance with the indictments of the three public prosecutors.

In addition, the prosecutor also asked the panel of judges to punish the defendant to pay a fine of Rp. 125 million. With the provision, if the fine is not paid, it will be replaced with imprisonment for 6 months in prison.

In the lawsuit against Edward, the prosecutor revealed that there was aggravating thing, namely that the defendant's actions did not support the government's program in order to organize a clean and free country from corruption, collusion and nepotism (KKN).

Meanwhile, the thing that eases the demands, he continued, is that Edward was polite during the trial and had never been convicted.

In this case, Edward was charged with receiving USD 1 million in cash related to the case of BTS 4G and supporting infrastructure at BAKTI Kominfo.

The money was received from BAKTI Kominfo President Director Anang Achmad Latif through the President Director of PT Mora Telematika Indonesia Galumbang Menak, with the source of money from the Commissioner of PT Solitechmedia Synergy Irwan Hermawan for the management of alleged problems in the provision of 4G BTS and supporting infrastructure at BAKTI Kominfo in 2020-2022.

The management aims to prevent problems from being reported and followed up by the Prosecutor's Office and the Financial Audit Agency (BPK).

In the indictment, Edward's actions as regulated and threatened with crime in Article 12 letter b or Article 11 of Law no. 31/1999 as amended by Law no. 20/2001.

Edward's actions also face criminal charges Article 5 paragraph (1) letter b jo. Article 15 or Article 5 paragraph (2) of Law no. 31 of 1999 or Article 4 or Article 5 paragraph (1) of Law Number 8 of 2010 concerning the Prevention and Eradication of the Crime of Money Laundering (TPPU).
