Thousands Of Residents Crowded With HI Roundabouts On New Year's Eve

Thousands of residents packed the Jakarta Hotel Indonesia (HI) roundabout area to celebrate New Year's Eve at the location of the crowd center which became the residents' favorites.

On Tuesday at around 20.15 WIB, the HI Roundabout area was packed with thousands of residents who watched a number of shows in the area.

The roads to and from MH Thamrin and Sudirman were filled with residents flocking to the center of the crowd.

Young people, children and adults gather together and issue a gadget to capture the moment once a year.

A resident from East Jakarta named Amin said that he deliberately took the time to come to the HI Roundabout to welcome the year.

He admitted that he was enthusiastic about the performances presented on New Year's Eve. Moreover, there is an entertainment stage that can be enjoyed while waiting for the seconds of the turn of the year.

"Lastly celebrating the turn of the year at the HI Roundabout two years ago. Today it turns out to be busy, especially since there is an entertainment stage," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, December 31.

Another resident from South Tangerang named Siti admitted that he came to the HI Roundabout with his family to enjoy the show on New Year's Eve.

"This is the first time, it's also crowded," he said.

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) invited local residents to celebrate New Year's Eve 2025 at several points in the global city on Tuesday (31/12).

Head of the DKI Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf) Andhika Permata said the celebration entitled "The New Jakarta World" was not only designed to celebrate New Year's Eve, but also introduced Jakarta as a modern and creative global city.

"We invite all residents to attend and feel an extraordinary spirit of togetherness," said Andhika in Jakarta, Sunday (29/12).

The "World Jakarta Commemoration" event which will be held starts at 18.30-00.30 WIB in a number of locations.

"At the HI Roundabout, which contains the main stage with entertainment from a number of well-known artists such as Yura Yunita, RAN, there are light performances, drone performances and fireworks as well," he said.

Furthermore, along Jalan MH Thamrin to Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, there are 14 entertainment stage points filled with entertainment from a number of top artists with dangdut, pop, rege to skirts.
