OPM Shoot Dead Residents Of The Bore Mountains Of Bintang

JAYAPURA - An armed criminal group (KKB) or OPM was reported to have shot a resident of Borme, Bintang Mountains Regency, Papua Mountains, while the victim was inside his house.

"KKB reportedly shot Senus Lepitalen, a resident of Borme to death," said Head of the Cartenz Peace Operations Task Force Kombes Faizal Rahmadani as reported by ANTARA, Friday, June 7.

"From the reports received by the shooting that occurred on Thursday morning while the victim was in front of the fire to warm the bada. Suddenly it was heard that someone had knocked on the door so the victim stood up to open it, but was immediately shot by one of the people in front of the door," said Kasatgas.

Kriban was shot with a short-barreled firearm and hit the chest.

Senus Lepitalen's body is currently buried in the funeral home in Calap village, Borme District.

"The late Senus Lepitalen is one of the victims of the persecution and hostage-taking of PT. IBS employees carried out by the KKB on May 12, 2023, in Okbab District, Bintang Mountains Regency," explained Kombes Faizal Rahmadani.

The hostage-taking of the workers occurred shortly upon arrival in Okbab using an aircraft belonging to Elang Air.

The plane carrying six passengers, namely the Head of the Communications and Information Office of the Bintang Alferus Sanuari Mountains, three PT IBS employees, namely Benjamin Sembiring, Asmar and Feryan Erlangga and staff of Okbab Peas Kulka District and residents of Borme Senus Lepitalem District.

A moment when he arrived at the Okbab airport, suddenly a group of people carrying sharp weapons such as machetes then attacked PT. IBS employees until they were injured.

The Head of Kominfo Bintang Mountains and an employee of PT. IBS, Benjamin Sembiring, was allowed to return to Oksibil by plane and reported the incident to the Pegubin Police.
