JAKARTA - The commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) warned that the Zionist regime of Israel must pay the price for the death of an IRGC military adviser in a recent attack in Aleppo, Syria.

In Wednesday's message, IRGC Commander Major General Hossein Salami expressed his condolences for the death of IRGC soldier Saeed Abya, in an Israeli airstrike in Aleppo, as he served as an adviser.

"Child killer Zionists must remember that they will pay the price for the pure blood shed in this crime. They (Zionists) must wait for a response (Iran)," said Major General Salami, launching the Tasnim News Agency on June 5.

Paying tribute to the late IRGC soldiers for his assistance to anti-Israeli resistance groups, Major General Salami said it would inspire revolutionary youths forever.

As previously reported, Israeli airstrikes in the Syrian city of Aleppo reportedly killed an Iranian military adviser, according to Iranian media.

The latest incident occurred around 00.20 local time on Monday, June 4, after Israel launched an air strike with missiles, targeting "a number of points" around the city of Aleppo.

Abiyar is believed to have been the first IRGC member to be killed by Israel since April, when Israel bombed the Iranian embassy complex in Damascus, killing several commanders.

Iran has deployed military advisers to Syria since civil war broke out there in 2011, in support of President Bashar al-Assad.
