15 Thousand Children Killed In Gaza Since October, Palestinian Civilian Casualties Reach 36,550 People

JAKARTA - More than 15,000 Palestinian children have been killed since last October, when the latest Hamas-Israeli conflict in the Gaza Strip broke out, while the death toll and injuries to civilians continued to grow.

Palestinian children are the biggest victims of an eight-month war in Gaza, with more than 15,000 people killed since October, the Palestinian enclave Education Ministry said, reported The National News May 4.

Most of the victims who died were kindergarten-age children and elementary schools, the ministry continued on Tuesday, commemorating International Day of Undeniable Children Victims of Aggression.

Not only that, Around 620,000 students have not been able to attend school since October, with 88,000 students unable to attend classes.

On the other hand, aid groups have warned survivors are at risk of dire hunger.

On Monday, Oxfam said hunger was "closer", citing a May survey that found 85 percent of children were not eating for a full day at least once in three days, before research was conducted.

While Israel guarantees that full support will be given to those who run away, much of Gaza has lost humanitarian aid, he said.

"At the time of hunger it was stated, it was too late. When hunger claimed more lives, no one would be able to deny the terrible impact of Israel's intentional, illegal, and cruel ban on aid," explained Oxfam's Director at Mena Sally Abi Khalil.
