Insistently Wanting To Carry Gus Yusuf Cagub Central Java, PKB: Our Main Obsession And Aspiration

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Regional Head Election of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Abdul Halim Iskandar said his party firmly wanted to carry the Chairman of the Central Java PKB DPW KH Muhammad Yusuf Chudlori as a candidate for governor (cagub) in the 2024 Central Java (Central Java) Pilkada.

"Of course we want Gus Yusuf to be crowded in the Central Java gubernatorial election with the governor position. This is our main obsession and aspiration," said Halim at the PKB DPP office, Central Jakarta, Monday, June 3.

According to Halim, Gus Yusuf has more strong potential as a cagub than a deputy governor position. This is because Gus Yusuf is claimed to have quite a lot of supporters.

"Gus Yusuf as chairman of the Central Java PKB DPW, the base is very strong," said Halim.

However, PKB cannot carry its own in the Central Java Pilkada. Because in the 2024 Pilleg of the Central Java DPRD, PKB only gets 20 seats, while to be able to carry it yourself, you must have 25 seats.

Thus, PKB must open communication with other political parties to form a supporting coalition in the Central Java gubernatorial election.

"Surely we are looking for a coalition party in Central Java. We are looking for 4 seats and can already go to carry him as a candidate for governor and that is not a difficult thing," he said.
