Urged In Needs, Man Desperately Steals His Own Friend's IPhone And Samsung In Central Jakarta Monday

Members of the Senen Police Criminal Investigation Unit arrested a mobile phone thief with the initials FR (36) alias Ajo in the house, Jalan Kramat Sawah XII, RT 09/02, Paseban Village, Senen District, Central Jakarta.

The suspect entered the victim's house secretly, then took the victim's belongings in the form of two cellphones from the iPhone and Samsung brands. However, the perpetrator's actions were discovered by the victim.

The victim tried to catch the perpetrator but failed. The perpetrator fled towards Cempaka Putih using a motorbike, the victim chased him.

Luckily, the suspect's pursuit was discovered by members of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Senen Police who happened to pass by the location. Apart from the victims, the police and residents returned to chase the suspect until the suspect was finally arrested.

"The perpetrator was arrested on Jalan Percetakan Negara, Cempaka Putih. The perpetrator was arrested by members of the police and victims," said Senen Police Chief, AKP Bambang to reporters, Monday, June 3.

Furthermore, the suspect and two cellphones from the crime of theft of the suspect were secured to the Senen Police for further processing. The victim also made a report on the theft to the Senen Police.

"The method was when the suspect went to the victim's house and saw the victim's room was empty. The suspect took the cellphone and was caught by the victim," he said.

The suspect and the victim know each other. From the suspect's confession to the police, he was desperate to steal because of economic necessity.

"The suspect entered the victim's boarding room. The suspect was charged with Article 363 paragraph 1 3e of the Criminal Code with a threat of 7 years in prison," he said.
