Brong Exhaust, Thugs And Alcohol Snatched By Garut Police

JAKARTA A total of 279 noisy exhausts were confiscated by the Garut Police as a result of raids at a number of urban points and Garut Regency. The raid, which was held on Saturday at midnight until early Sunday morning, was able to produce hundreds of Brong exhausts that were prohibited by the Police.

"We have secured hundreds of motorbikes, of course we check for vehicle documents resulting from raids today," said Garut Police Chief AKBP Rohman Yongky Dilatha, Sunday, June 2.

He said the Enhanced Routine Activity (KRYD) operation involved all elements of the National Police, the TNI, and officers from the regional government related services targeting noisy exhaust vehicle operations, thuggery, motorcycle gangs, theft, liquor, drugs, and juvenile delinquency who roamed in the middle of the night.

Specifically for operations targeting motorized vehicles, said the Police Chief, 279 noisy exhausts were confiscated, then some were confiscated by their motorbikes because they could not show their vehicle documents, as well as fines for motorists who violated traffic regulations.

"We ticket the 'brong' exhaust sanctions, we do coaching, educate users of the 'brong' exhaust, then we check the letters if they are not completed, we check frame numbers, engine numbers, I'm afraid of the proceeds of crime," he said.

He conveyed that the use of noisy exhausts was still happening based on findings in the field and reports from the public who complained about the exhaust.

The police, he said, continued to carry out vehicle raids, then responded quickly if there were reports of public complaints about the use of noisy exhausts, then educational efforts so that people realized they were no longer using the exhaust.

"The problem with the exhaust is still there, even though we continue to secure it, we never give up on continuing to educate, that the 'brong' exhaust is very disturbing, many people feel restless with this exhaust," he said.

He added that in addition to taking firm action against noisy exhaust users, his party also managed to confiscate hundreds of bottles of liquor produced by manufacturers and traditional and oplosan.

In addition, he continued, there were also prosecutions against thugs who were reported to be disturbing the community, then examinations of residents living in boarding houses and inns.

He conveyed that the operation aims to provide a sense of security, comfort, and order for people who will continue to be carried out regularly, especially at night.
