Ambon Police Take Firm Action Against Police Officers Who Are Rudapaksa Minors

JAKARTA - Binmas personnel and Public Relations of the Ambon Island Police and Lease Islands provide assistance to an eight-year-old boy who is a victim of forced sexual intercourse allegedly carried out by police officers.

"We have been supporting the victim since Friday (May 31) at his house," said Head of Public Relations of the Ambon Police, Ipda Janete S. Luhukay, Sunday, June 2.

From the mentoring program, the PPA conveyed to the parents and families of the victims that the case was continued until the trial process.

According to him, the legal process has been underway and the Chief of Police has ordered him to process and take firm action against members who commit criminal acts, both criminally and indiscriminately.

"There is no intervention from any party and will continue to be escorted by the police until it is complete, and the victim is expected to remain enthusiastic about carrying out activities," said Janete.

Participating in the mentoring program, the Head of Public Relations of the Ambon Police, Ipda Janete Luhukay, and KBO Binmas Ambon Police, Ipda S. Taberima, along with binmas personnel, PPA Ambon Police Unit and P2TP2A Ambon Reta Purba City.

Previously, an individual member of the police with the initials RS alias Syaiful (43) was suspected of having intercourse with the victim continuously since 2023 and his action was carried out again on May 4, 2024.

The victim is also a neighbor and friend of the child at school.

The perpetrator's lecherous act was revealed after the victim's biological mother saw the abnormal way her child walked after a change in behavior after being sexually assaulted by the perpetrator, and after being urged, the boy finally made a scene.

"For developments until now, investigators have named the perpetrator as a suspect and have examined a number of witnesses, then the victim has been post-mortem and the investigators are currently in the process of filing it," he said.

The suspect was charged with violating Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection with a maximum prison sentence of 20 years.

Regarding the involvement of unscrupulous members of the National Police in this case, the Ambon Island Police Chief and Pp Lease stated that they would take firm action both criminally and with a code of ethics.
