Defense Minister Prabowo Receives UK Chief Of Defense Staff

JAKARTA - Defense Minister (Menhan) Prabowo Subianto received a visit from the British Chief of Defense Staff, Admiral Antony David Radakin, at the Ministry of Defense office, Jakarta.

In the courtyard of the main building of the Ministry of Defense office, the arrival of Ramakin was welcomed by Deputy Minister of Defense M. Herindra and the ceremony along the ranks of the troops.

Herindra and Radakin immediately examined the troops and paid tribute to the statue of President of the 1st Soekarno who stood tall in the courtyard of the main building of the Ministry of Defense.

After that, Herindra together with the main officials of the Ministry of Defense such as the Acting Secretary General of the Ministry of Defense Donny Ermawan Taufanto and the Head of the Defense Facilities Agency (Kabaran) of the Ministry of Defense, Young Marshal TNI Yusuf Jauhari, escorted Radakin into the building to meet Prabowo.

Defense Minister Prabowo, who was waiting right in front of the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Hall, immediately approached his guest.

"Welcome, thank you," Prabowo told Ramadain.

Radakin also had time to convey information about the defense event he held next week. After a short chat, Prabowo invited his guests to enter his office.

The meeting between Prabowo and Radakin took place behind closed doors. The two discussed defense and security issues, as well as increasing defense cooperation between Indonesia and Britain.

Radakin on Thursday morning also visited the Defense University (IDU), a campus that is the construction of the Ministry of Defense. Rector of the Defense University Lt. Gen. Jonni Mahroza welcomed Radakin's visit. In the Rector Meeting Room, Pascasarjana Unhan Campus, Jakarta, Jonni introduced the Defense University to Radakin, including existing study programs and community research and service programs initiated by the Defense University.

Indonesia and Britain in 2022 will build a 2022 '2024 cooperation framework, including the defense sector. In the defense sector, the two countries agreed to joint military exercises, exchange visits between officials, exchange cadets, as well as cooperation in building the Arrowhead 140 frigate at the PT PAL Indonesia shipyard, whose ship is called the Red and White frigate.
