The Attorney General's Office Names The Director General Of Mineral And Coal Of The Ministry Of Energy And Mineral Resources As The 22nd Suspect In The Tin Corruption Case

The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has named the former Director General of Mineral and Coal of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bambang Gatot Ariyono or BGA, as a new suspect in the alleged corruption case of tin commodity trading in the PT Timah Tbk Mining Business Permit (IUP) from 2015 to 2022.

With this determination, 22 people have been named as suspects in the alleged tin corruption case.

"Our BGA has a regency status as a suspect. He was determined in his capacity (as) the Director General of Mineral and Coal of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources 2015-2020," said Director of Investigations at the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), Kuntadi, to reporters, Wednesday, May 29.

However, it is not certain about the detention of Bambang Gatot Ariyono. This is because the examination process for him has not been completed.

"Until now, the investigation is still ongoing. Detention or not, we will see after the inspection is complete," he said.

Bambang Gatot Ariyono was named a suspect because he deliberately changed the 2019 Work Plan and Fee Budget (RKAB) document.

Changes related to the area of mining land which reaches 100 percent. This was done without any study.

"Memencuruh RKAB tahun 2019 yang semula ditetapkan 30.217 metric ton diubah dengan mebaikan prosedur yang benar menjadi 68.300 metric ton," kata Kuntadi.

Previously, in the case of alleged tin corruption, the AGO had named 21 suspects.

Some of them are Sandra Dewi's husband, Harvey Moeis, crazy rich Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) Helena Lim, and the founder of airline Sriwijaya Air Hendry Lie.
