JAKARTA - The National Awakening Party (PKB) has issued recommendations to 65 regional candidates (brajada) to run in the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada. Dozens of these names will be promoted by PKB as candidates for regents-deputy regents and mayors-deputy mayors. Chairman of the PKB Pilkada Decree Abdul Halim Iskandar explained that 65 of the bacada names had passed the fit and proper test (UKK) of 288 people who registered with PKB. "Of the 288 regional head candidates that we have issued, we have issued 65 recommendations for regents/mayors," said Halim at the PKB DPP Office, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, May 29. Of the 65 Bakacadas that have received recommendations, 16 of them are from internal PKB cadres. "Both cadres and non-cadres we treat are the same, the most important thing is the Level and Development Vision of the Bacakada," said Halim. Since the opening of the prospective registrant for regional head of PKB 2024 on April 20, 2024, the DPP PKB Pilkada Decree has received 2,978 good Bakacada registrants. Thus, PKB will still conduct UKK on other names before being netted and given recommendations. In the UKK process, the sub-district heads were asked to convey their vision and mission regarding the development of their respective regions. Bacakada was also asked to convey the winning strategy to be pursued in order to win the Pilkada contestation. Based on the results of the UKK so far, the majority of the bacadas revealed that the problem experienced by the community is the matter of poverty. Thus, the vision and mission that was initiated was mainly regarding the eradication of poverty. "This means that the problem of poverty in Indonesia still requires serious handling," said Halim. In addition, other issues that are of concern to the reading and cadres are human resources (HR), infrastructure, and food security. "These four issues are the top priority when we interviewed the regional head, dominating regional problems that will be worked on by regional head candidates from PKB," he explained.
Meanwhile, PKB has not yet given a recommendation to the prospective governor and deputy governor candidates. The recommendation to carry the reading of the provincial level is targeted to be issued no later than the end of July 2024.
