MANOKWARI - The West Papua High Prosecutor's Office has arrested DAW, a suspect in the alleged corruption case in the construction of the West Papua Provincial Housing Office for the 2017 fiscal year which is included in the wanted list (DPO). Head of the West Papua High Prosecutor's Office, Harli Siregar, said DAW ignored the summons for examination as a witness by investigators in the case so that the prosecutor's office issued a DPO. After being detained, DAW was later named a suspect based on the Investigation Order of the Head of the West Papua High Prosecutor's Office Number: Print-04/R.2/Fd.1/05/2024 dated May 22, 2024. "About a year of being searched, finally the suspect was arrested while in Makassar, South Sulawesi," said Harli when he arrived at Rendani Manokwari Airport, Antara, Monday, May 27. Harli explained that the suspect DAW acted as a contractor working on the West Papua Housing Service office construction project worth IDR 4.326 billion using someone else's company, PT Trimese Perkasa. The suspect then collaborated with the convict Marinus Bonepai as Director of CV Maskam Jaya to win the auction process. However, the implementation of the project was not in accordance with the contract and did not complete 100 percent. "The project is not completed but the budget has been disbursed 100 percent. Report on the results of the audit from the West Papua Inspectorate, state financial losses reached Rp1,892 billion," said Harli. In this case, he said, a number of convicts had served sentences according to the decision of the Corruption Court at the Manokwari District Court, namely Hendry W. Kolondam as the Budget User Authority (KPA), and Martha Heipon as the Activity Technical Implementation Officer (PPTK). Then, Herman Remetwa, Issa Agung, Christya Wibawa and Robert Mangarouw as the auction committee for the West Papua Housing Service office construction project, including Marinus Bonepai as Director of CV Maskam Jaya.

"Now the suspect DAW is being held at the Class IIB Manokwari Prison for the purposes of investigating investigators," said Harli Siregar.
