LABUAN BAJO - The joint search and rescue team (SAR) evacuated seven passengers of the Pinisi ship who suffered a broken steering while crossing the waters of Taka Makassar Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The joint SAR team who received information went straight to the scene and found the phinisi ship was adrift after the incident broke the wheel. All passengers, he continued, were evacuated to Marina Labuan Bajo port and have returned to their respective inns. "All passengers are in good health, it's just that they are a little weak due to being swayed," he said. He explained that the phinisi ship was about to go to Komodo Island from Padar Island, but suffered a broken wheel in Taka Makassar waters, Labuan Bajo. "The crew (ABK) and the captain of the ship chose to stay on the ship to repair the steering," he said.

The joint elements involved in the evacuation process include personnel from the Directorate of Water and Air Police (Ditpolair) of the NTT Police, Water and Air Police Unit (Polairud) of the West Manggarai Police, Naval Base (Lanal) Labuan Bajo, and the Labuan Bajo Harbormaster and Authority Office (KSOP).
