JAKARTA - Commission II of the DPR has asked the Ministry of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (Kemenpan RB) to prioritize fresh graduates or new graduates in order to fulfill the needs of ASN arrangement and placement in 2025.

Member of Commission II of the DPR, Ahmad Ali welcomed KemenPAN RB's ability to prioritize fresh graduates in the selection of CPNS and PPPK. According to him, this priority is a visionary step towards a golden Indonesia.

"This is a visionary step to look at Indonesia Gold in 2024, fresh graduates tend to adapt easily to new technology and various changes, and bring brilliant, fresh, and innovative perspectives and ideas," said Ali Ahmad in his statement, Friday, March 7.

For information, Commission II of the DPR together with KemenPAN RB agreed to prioritize the acceptance of fresh graduates in a public hearing (RDPU) at the Nusantara Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday, March 5.

The results of the meeting concluded, in order to fulfill the needs of ASN arrangement and placement to support various national development priority programs according to Asta Cita, Commission II asked the Kemenpan RB to harmonize the formation, position, and placement in the selection of CPNS and PPPK.

"The selection is based on the nation's best competence and talent by prioritizing fresh graduates to improve the quality of the bureaucracy towards Indonesia Gold in 2045," explained the East Java electoral district PKB legislator.

Ali hopes that the RDPU agreement can be carried out by the Kemenpan RB with full responsibility. According to him, giving priority to fresh graduates is a golden opportunity that not only motivates students/learners to complete studies with good grades and achievements, but also encourages parents to provide the best education for their children.

"The state has been present on national issues due to the immersion of interest in learning in Indonesia. The program for International Student Assessment (PISA) provides an assessment, Indonesia is ranked 74th out of 79 countries participating in the assessment," he said.

According to Ali, the low interest in learning in the Indonesian nation is also influenced by the absence of priority for new graduates, especially from universities. Therefore, he considered, this is a smart step to motivate interest in learning and improve the quality of education in Indonesia.

"Although it is classified as a low interest in learning, because of the large population, according to data from the Ministry of Education and Culture, the increase in new graduates from universities or fresh graduates in Indonesia reaches more than 1,000,000 people every year," he said.

"For example, in 2019 it reached 2.42 million, in 2020 it was 2.47 million graduates. The problem is, the unemployment rate for fresh graduates is also quite high. In August 2024, there were 842,378 fresh graduates who were unemployed," Ali continued.

Ali added, although the percentage of increasing interest in learning in the Indonesian nation is low, based on research from the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) of the World Talent Ranking (WTR) 2024, it shows that the quality of Indonesian Human Resources (HR) has risen to 46th in the world.

"This is encouraging news, our nation is smart, the problem is that unemployment among fresh graduates is quite high due to the scarcity of job opportunities, I haqqul Yaqin if the Menpan RB carries out this mandate properly, Indonesia will be able to realize Indonesia's vision of Golden 2045," concluded Ali.
