Israel Has No Gubris UN Court, Continues Attacks On Gaza

JAKARTA - Israeli forces continued to attack the Gaza region, Palestine, killing more than 30 people on Saturday, May 25. The attack came a day after a judge at the UN high court ordered Israel to stop the attack on Rafah, South Gaza.

Citing ANTARA, Sunday, May 26, although Israel continues its attacks on Palestinian militant groups Hamas, mediated negotiations between the two sides will resume next week.

The decision regarding these negotiations was taken after the head of Israel's intelligence agency, Mossad, met with the CIA chief and Qatari prime minister.

At the end of the meeting, it was decided that in the coming week negotiations would be opened based on new proposals led by mediators, Egypt and Qatar and with US active involvement, "said an unnamed source.

After more than seven months of war in Gaza, the mediators have struggled to get a breakthrough and Israel is seeking the release of hostages held hostage by Hamas. Meanwhile, Hamas is also seeking the release of Palestinian prisoners detained by Israel and ending the war.

Fighting continues in Gaza despite mediation and judges in the UN high court ordered Israel on Friday to immediately stop its military offensive against Rafah to eradicate Hamas fighters.

The International Court or the World Court, does not have the ability to enforce its emergency decision in a case filed by South Africa that accuses Israel of committing genocide.

However, this case is a clear sign of Israel's global isolation of its campaign in Gaza, especially since Israel started an attack on Rafah this month that contradicts the request of its closest ally, the United States.

Based on Palestinian Health Ministry data, more than 35,000 Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza.

Israel began the attack after Hamas-led militants attacked the southern Israeli community on October 7. Based on Israel's internal data, the attack killed about 1,200 people and took more than 250 people hostage.
