Swearing While Stepping On The Koran, The Former Head Of The Merauke Airport Authority Office Is Policed

JAKARTA - The former Head of the Merauke Regional Airport Authority Office, Asep Kosasih, was reported to Polda Metro Jaya. The report relates to allegations of blasphemy.

Asep Kosasih had gone viral on social media for swearing while stepping on the Koran.

"We received a report on the alleged blasphemy case, the reported brother AK in the police report," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi to reporters, Friday, May 17.

The report is said to have been received on May 15, 2024. Regarding the handling of the report, Ade said investigators were still studying the report file.

Later, investigative steps will be taken, such as examining witnesses, reporters, and the reported party.

"So investigators are currently investigating," said Ade.

Asep Kosasih's action of vowing while stepping on the Koran was carried out to prove to his wife that he was not having an affair with another woman.

Regarding his position, the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) through the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (Ditjen Hubud) has released Asep Kosasih as Head of the Merauke Regional X Airport Authority Office.

"We deeply regret the case of domestic violence involving the Head of the Regional Airport Authority X Asep Kosasih. Currently, the person concerned has been relieved of his duties to facilitate further investigations," said Secretary of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation Cecep Kurniawan.
