NasDem: Pilkada Study Returned To DPRD Must Involve Civil Society

JAKARTA - The chairman of the NasDem Party DPP, Willy Aditya, assessed that the discourse on regional head elections (Pilkada), such as governors, regents, and mayors, to be returned to the DPRD must be studied comprehensively.

In addition to the mutual agreement between political parties, according to him, the study must also involve civil society.

"We must involve many groups, both political society, civil society, academics, to then conduct research bases," Willy told reporters, Wednesday, December 18.

In addition to an in-depth study, NasDem also encourages the importance of political consensus. According to Willy, decisions related to the political system must be made through deliberations involving all parties, including parties that do not qualify for parliament.

"Anyway in the political system, he needs a consensus, sit down together. There are 8 parties now, invite parties that are not elected, invite others, sit down together," he said.

The former chairman of the Legislative Council of the Republic of Indonesia emphasized that big decisions such as changing the Pilkada system should not be taken in emotional conditions or fatigue.

"Friends can imagine, this is the situation, the situation is all tired. There are words that wise people say, never make decisions when you are emotional," he said.

The chairman of Commission XIII of the DPR RI also reminded that changes in the political system should be carried out with full awareness and projective thinking.

"So, whatever we will produce, it will not result from a conspiracy, but it is the result of our joint decision. Consciously. This is not yet conscious, sir. It's like a drunken person, sir. Still staggered. This is impossible to be objective," concluded Willy.
