Dragged Into Domestic Violence Case, Head Of Merauke Airport Authority Office Freed

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (Ditjen Hubud) of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) has temporarily released the Head of the Airport Authority (OBU) Region X Merauke, South Papua.

This temporary release from office is carried out to facilitate further investigations related to the alleged Domestic Violence (KDRT) case, which has been internally reported to the Ministry of Transportation, through the Human Resources and Organizations Section (SDMO) of the Secretariat General of Civil Aviation.

"We deeply regret the case of domestic violence involving the Head of the Regional Airport Authority X (Merauke) Asep Kosasih. Currently, the person concerned has been relieved of his duties to facilitate further investigations," said Secretary of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation Cecep Kurniawan as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, May 16.

For this domestic violence case, an integrated examination will then be carried out by the Personnel Guidance Officer within the Ministry of Transportation, and if proven true, internal sanctions will be given in accordance with applicable regulations.

Cecep stated that the Discipline of Civil Servants has been regulated through Government Regulation Number 94 of 2021.

"As civil servants, we must comply with the applicable rules, because before being inaugurated, of course, an oath of office has been carried out. Therefore, we must obey the obligations and avoid the stipulated prohibitions," he said.

Discipline violations can be in the form of words, writings, or actions of civil servants who do not comply with obligations and or violate the prohibition of the provisions of Civil Servant Discipline, both done inside and outside working hours.

Cecep reminded that in an increasingly sophisticated era of technology, any seconds can spread into news or information.

"It is very easy to go viral. For this reason, as a civil servant, it is necessary to understand the negative impacts caused, resulting in a decrease in dignity, dignity, image, trust, good name not only personally but also agencies. Hopefully this incident will not happen again," said Cecep.

As for other cases outside the domestic violence, namely the alleged blasphemy, said Cecep, the Ministry of Transportation could not interfere, because it became the private sphere of the person concerned.
