Hezbollah Claims To Launch 60 Rockets To Northern Israel, IDF Says No Victims And Responds With Air Strikes

JAKARTA - The Hezbollah militant group claims to have launched attacks with dozens of rockets on Israeli territory, while Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it did not cause any casualties and responded by launching fighter aircraft.

Hezbollah said it had launched more than 60 rockets on various targets in northern Israel, "in response to last night's enemy attack on the Bekaa region" in Lebanon, according to CNN May 16.

It said, "more than 60 Katyusha rockets to the Headquarters of the Golan Division 210 (IDF) in Nafah, the air defense barracks in Keila and supporting artillery in the northern region in Yoav."

Meanwhile, Israel Defense Force said, "about 40 launches were identified crossing from Lebanon towards the Golan Heights."

"Some of the launches were intercepted by the IDF Aerial Defense Array. No injuries were reported," explained the IDF.

In addition, five launches have been detected from Lebanese territory to the Zait area. No injuries, said the IDF.

In response to the attack, Israeli fighter jets attacked the launch position of the Hezbollah rocket in southern Lebanon, quoted from The Times of Israel.

The IDF added that they also attacked a building where Hezbollah members gathered in Ayta ash-Shab, as well as another building Halta.
