Floods Due To Broken Embankments, 1,687 Residents Of Garden City Periuk Tangerang Evacuated

A total of 1,687 residents of Garden City Housing, Periuk, Tangerang City were evacuated. This happened because their house was flooded due to the Kali Ledug embankment, Tangerang City collapsed after the rain on Saturday, November 23, yesterday.

The Head of Periuk Sub-district, Nanang Kosim, said that the current water level reaches 70 centimeters, after previously reaching 110 centimeters.

It was recorded that 1,687 residents were affected or about 600 families who had been evacuated by officers. Some took refuge in their closest relatives, at three evacuation posts, and some remained at home with a water level of 30 centimeters," Nanang said when confirmed, Sunday, November 24.

Nanang said residents who fled to the evacuation post had received logistics from the Tangerang City Government.

Not only that, the Tangerang City Health Office (Dinkes) also dispatched its medical team to maintain the safety of its citizens.

"All food and logistics assistance has been distributed, the health of residents is also monitored to be safe by the Health Office," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Tangerang City DPUPR, Taufik Syahzaeni, said that currently his party is installing a kisdam and bamboo fence for the broken embankment.

"While waiting for the kisdam process to be maximized or repaired. We have also prepared 15 water pumps along the Garden City Periuk Housing embankment. Hopefully, everything will be maximized today, for kisdams, suction to cleaning," he explained.
