Israeli Air Attack Targets Senior Leader Hezbollah In Beirut, 11 People Killed

JAKARTA Israeli airstrikes on Saturday 23 November targeted Mohammed Haider, a senior leader of Hezbollah, in Beirut, Lebanon. Reports from Israeli public broadcasting firm KAN, revealed that the attack was aimed at killing Haider, a prominent figure in the Lebanese-based Hezbollah group.

An unnamed Israeli security source confirmed that Haider was the target of the attack, although there is no certainty regarding his death.

Until this news was published, Hezbollah had not yet made official comments regarding the incident.

As a result of the airstrike, a building in the Basta area, downtown Beirut, was destroyed. Lebanese Civil Defense Team found 11 bodies from the rubble and evacuated 23 injured people.

Israel has previously launched cross-border airstrikes on Lebanon on the grounds of targeting senior leader Hezbollah. Since October, Israeli attacks in Lebanon have left more than 3,600 people dead, 15,300 injured, and more than 1 million people forced to flee, according to Lebanese health authorities.

Tensions in the region continue to rise, exacerminating humanitarian conditions amid the conflict that has not shown signs of easing.
