Congestion On Jalan Yos Sudarso Due To The Automatic Gate Of Tanjung Priok Port Error

Head of the North Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Unit (Kasatlantas) Kompol Edy Purwanto said that congestion on the arterial road in the Tanjung Priok Port area, North Jakarta due to damage to the automatic entrance gate (gate).

"Gate error. It should be automatic, made manually. So it takes a long time to serve trailer trucks entering the port area," said Kompol Edy Purwanto, Antara, Wednesday, May 15.

In addition, he continued, currently there are five cargo ships docked at Tanjung Priok Port which caused the trailer truck to queue to move goods from the ship to the car.

According to him, these two things affected arterial roads in the Tanjung Priok Port area on Wednesday morning.

In addition, the dense activity of residents leaving for work has increased the volume of vehicles, resulting in long traffic jams.

"We have coordinated with the Port Police and made efforts to regulate traffic," he said.

In addition, he appealed to residents who have no interest in Tanjung Priok Port to find other alternative routes.

"We continue to strive so that this traffic jam is disbursed and back to smooth," he said.

Long traffic jams were reported to have occurred from Jalan Yos Sudarso to the Tanjung Priok Port area on Wednesday morning. This congestion also occurs at the exit point of the toll gate near the port area.

Even a number of trailer truck drivers on the road got off and turned off their car engines because of the long queue of traffic jams.

Meanwhile, the opposite happened on Jalan Yos Sudarso from the direction of Tanjung Priok Port to Kelapa Gading and there was no traffic jam.
